NEW YORK – “South Park” has declared war on Scientology. Matt Stone and Trey Parker, creators of the animated satire, are digging in against the celebrity-endorsed religion after a controversial episode mocking outspoken Scientologist Tom Cruise.
What’s crazy is Cruise is allegedly getting away with blackmail by forcing Viacom, Comedy Central’s parent company, to pull the episode by saying he wouldn’t promote Mission Impossible 3 for Paramount (which is also owned by Viacom).
From Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef:
Nobody is exempt from their humor. They’re equal-opportunity offenders. Don’t be offended by it. If you take it too seriously, you have problems.
Of course, he said this before he quit the show for “ridiculing” his religion.
Just what kind of power does Scientology have? It reminds me of another cartoon incident in the news recently. Only without the violence. Thank Xenu.

If Viacom is reading, I have been after voiceover work, have a sexier voice than Mr Hayes, and have no problem making fun of scientologists. (I loved Stone and Parker’s press statement.)

Ha ha. Give me an audio clip and I’ll post it right here just in case they drop by 🙂

I won’t hail Xenu but I do have Xanadu on DVD. Sure the film was a turkey but there is something about Olivia Newton-John on roller skates.
