CEOs build trust and get money from shareholders by making quarterly PowerPoint presentations detailing their past successes and future plans. Why wouldn’t the President of The United States of America use this simple and powerful technology to build trust and gain support from US citizens?

The president will not publicly commit to measureable goals.
If he put goals down in writing, he can be held to task for not achieving positive outcomes. And if he publicly stated his intentions and motivations, they become open to debate. Who needs to have their leadership questioned?
It’s much better for the president to hide his motivations, and claim “mission accomplished” if indeed any positive outcome should happen to arise.
You hit the nail on the head, Laura. Of course, it has to backfire at some point, right? I mean, can the public remain dumb to his hidden agendas forever? I desperately hope not.
